"I got this necklace as a gift from my best friend almost 4 years ago now. I wore this necklace just about everyday for the duration of time that I’ve had it. Unfortunately today it broke. However, I believe it was nothing wrong with the product, I just was very rough with the necklace."
"At first glance this is a pretty little necklace. However, it is rhodium plated over base metal. Rhodium plating is a wonderful way to brighten sterling silver and keep it from tarnishing. It is also used on white gold to brighten the color. This necklace is made of a base alloy metal with a very thin plating. At first, I thought the silver had become tarnished from sitting in the shop. Then I read the package insert and realized there is no silver in the necklace. There is no way to bring the luster back to the chain because the plating rubs off easily (as noted in the care instructions). The rhodium around the pearl appears to be painted on and a little piece flaked off easily when I took it out of the box. The packaging is beautiful and the "Survivor" message is what caught my friend's eye and caused him to buy it as a Christmas gift for me. If the necklace had been made with quality materials and workmanship, it would have been beautiful."
